Our Students, Our Future

Rooted in Ossining. Focused on our students. Committed to our future.

Over 20 years in education. Ossining parent. Ready to lead.

Meet Renee

I bring a unique perspective to this work:

Educator

I understand classrooms, students, and what it takes to support both

Graduate

I am a product of Ossining schools

Parent

I have two children currently in the district

I’m not looking at this from the outside—I’m living it every day.

My Priorities

Expanding Opportunities Beyond High School

Every student deserves access to pathways that prepare them for college, careers, and life. I am committed to increasing access to dual enrollment, career pathways, and postsecondary opportunities.

A Broader, National Perspective

Education is evolving. I bring a national lens to ensure Ossining students are prepared to compete and succeed in an ever-changing world.

Real-World Financial Readiness

Students should graduate with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances, make informed decisions, and build long-term stability.

Responsible, Strategic Leadership

Strong schools require thoughtful decision-making. I am committed to responsible leadership that prioritizes students, uses data effectively, and ensures long-term sustainability.

What I Believe

Strong schools are built on:

Trust between families and leadership

Clear communication and transparency

A commitment to continuous improvement

We can honor what’s working while building what’s next.

A Message from Renee

My name is Renee Nelson, and I am running to serve on the Ossining School Board.

This spring, you have an important decision to make about who will represent you on the School Board. It is a decision about who you trust to help safeguard one of the most valuable parts of our community—our schools.

The election of a school board member gives all of us tremendous power. The real question is whether we choose to use it. Your voice matters, and your vote matters.

Too often, people feel like their voices are not heard. I am running to make sure they are.
